Brief History of CREPA
IN1984, the Lord appeared to Bishop Abiola Idowu in a night vision. In the vision, he found himself standing in a valley, in the middle of a storm. The wind was blowing with so much force that he was terrified and cried out to God for help. Then he found himself standing on a platform in the middle of an open field, and he saw a portion of heaven slide wide open with one end extending to the ground. He tried to peek into the opening but could not move his feet. The wind started up again and this time, it was much stronger than before. Even the mountains around were being sharply sliced apart, yet he was not touched. Lots of creatures came running into the field where he stood for safety; many were destroyed by the sheer force of the storm. Only those people and creatures that escaped into the field where he stood were preserved. “But whosoever shall stand on the ground where you stand, by my word, shall escape the holocaust; go and raise unto me a new generation of believers that will walk upon the surface of the earth like Jesus, and release men and women to their destiny in Christ. The land upon which you stand shall be called Christ Resurrection Power Assembly.” After this vision, the Lord told Bishop Idowu that a holocaust is imminent on earth That 1984 revelation became a reality on November 7, 1993, when Christ Resurrection Power Assembly was born in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. It was a humble beginning, people gathering under the shade of a tree as the church meeting place. From that level, after a couple of years, the Lord expanded CREPA into a cathedral with the capacity to seat over a thousand members. By the instruction of the Lord, Bishop Abiola Idowu emigrated to the United States and started Christ Resurrection Power Assembly in Jacksonville, Florida, August 5th, 2007. The powerful apostolic-prophetic teaching of the word of God and the demonstration of God’s power has led to the growth of CREPA with multiple campuses in Nigeria and the United States.
