From under a tree in Osogbo, to the nations.
Christ Resurrection Power Assembly began in November 1993 in Osogbo, Nigeria, under the leadership of Bishop Abiola Idowu — a humble gathering of believers meeting under the shade of a tree. What started with three people grew into a cathedral congregation, and in 2007, Bishop Idowu brought CREPA to Jacksonville, Florida, starting again with just four people.
Today, CREPA is home to members representing more than 20 nationalities, with campuses across the United States and Nigeria — united around apostolic-prophetic teaching and a call to raise a generation that walks in the authority and identity found in Christ.
Brief History of CREPA
In 1984, the Lord appeared to Bishop Abiola Idowu in a night vision. In the vision, he found himself standing in a valley, in the middle of a storm. The wind was blowing with so much force that he was terrified and cried out to God for help. Then he found himself standing on a platform in the middle of an open field, and he saw a portion of heaven slide wide open with one end extending to the ground. He tried to peek into the opening but could not move his feet. The wind started up again and this time, it was much stronger than before. Even the mountains around were being sharply sliced apart, yet he was not touched. Lots of creatures came running into the field where he stood for safety; many were destroyed by the sheer force of the storm. Only those people and creatures that escaped into the field where he stood were preserved.
“But whosoever shall stand on the ground where you stand, by my word, shall escape the holocaust; go and raise unto me a new generation of believers that will walk upon the surface of the earth like Jesus, and release men and women to their destiny in Christ. The land upon which you stand shall be called Christ Resurrection Power Assembly.”
After this vision, the Lord told Bishop Idowu that a holocaust is imminent on earth.
That 1984 revelation became a reality on November 7, 1993, when Christ Resurrection Power Assembly was born in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. It was a humble beginning, people gathering under the shade of a tree as the church meeting place. From that level, after a couple of years, the Lord expanded CREPA into a cathedral with the capacity to seat over a thousand members. By the instruction of the Lord, Bishop Abiola Idowu emigrated to the United States and started Christ Resurrection Power Assembly in Jacksonville, Florida, August 5th, 2007. The powerful apostolic-prophetic teaching of the word of God and the demonstration of God’s power has led to the growth of CREPA with multiple campuses in Nigeria and the United States.

Our Beliefs
What We Believe At CREPA
We believe that the entire Scripture, both Old and New Testament, is written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim 3:16–17). All Christian teaching and the conduct of the children of God are established in the Holy Bible (2 Tim 3:10–15; 2 Peter 1:21; John 17:17; Psalms 119:105). We believe the Bible is the written and revealed will of God — explaining man's position before God, the way to obtain salvation, and the everlasting joy kept for the born-again soul. God's word stands forever (Deut 4:2; Rev 22:18; Matt 24:34–38).
About God
We believe there is only one true God, Creator of both visible and invisible creation (Genesis 1:1; Psalms 86:9–10; Isaiah 43:10–11; John 1:1–3). Only God exists forever — in Him every creature receives life (John 5:26).
About Jesus Christ
We believe He is the Son of God who took away our sins, and the Savior of the world — God revealed in the flesh, born of the virgin Mary (John 1:1–14; Matt 1:18–25; Isaiah 9:6). We believe in His death on the Cross and His resurrection, by which He brought redemption (Col 1:12–14; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Cor 15:3).
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead, equal in power and glory with the Father and the Son (John 14:16–17; John 15:26). He teaches, speaks to us, and bears witness in us (Acts 16:6–7), and endows believers with ministry gifts and power (1 Cor 12:7; Acts 1:8).
About the Trinity
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one God made up of three Persons — one in Trinity (Gen 1:26; Matt 3:16–17; Matt 28:19).
About the Devil
We believe there is a devil who seeks the downfall of every person, and who brought sickness, sin, and death into the world (Gen 3:1–16). By redemption, he has no power over a believer in Christ Jesus (Matt 12:24; James 4:7).
About Man
God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into him the breath of life (Genesis 2:7). Man is body, soul, and spirit — God's ambassador on earth (Genesis 1:26–28).
Repentance Unto God
Repentance is turning from sin to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Acts 3:19; 2 Cor 7:10; Mark 1:15).
Justification (New Birth)
God's grace by which we are cleansed from sin and able to stand before Him as though we had never sinned (Rom 3:25–26; Rom 5:1; John 3:3–5).
Sanctification (Holiness)
The ongoing grace by which our souls are cleansed as we dwell in God's word, following justification (John 17:15–17; 1 Thess 5:23–24; 1 Peter 1:16).
